I have recently been looking at illustrators who create original children’s books. I would like to include some original ideas in my designs so I think it will be useful to look at other illustrators who have done this. Serge Bloch is a French illustrator who creates work for a number of American newspapers as well as children’s books. The images shown above are from a book called I Can’t Wait which is written by Davide Cali. The book is aimed towards people of all ages and shows the rhythm of life played out by Serge Bloch’s drawings and a piece of red string. Although stylistically my work is very different from his I feel I can learn from the original ideas used in Serge Bloch’s work, I also like the clever compositions he uses to tell the story.

Hi Jenny,
Did you get the email that I sent you requesting work for the Giant website?
I love Serge Bloch's work and have been looking at his work in connection to my Major Project. Do you know his email address I could not find it and the request for it I sent to his agency got no reply.
Hi Rose, I've just had a look on his website www.sergebloch.net and it says contact@sergebloch.net, I dont know if you've tried that one. I'll bring that book in on wednesday.
