Picasso
Another place we visited in Barcelona was the Picasso Museum. I didn’t know what to expect from this visit as I’ve saw his work many times before. Most of the museum was what I expected, his early work of portraits, landscapes and still life, and then his cubist work. I’ve always liked these paintings but they’ve never really had much influence on me. There was work at the museum which I have never seen before and appealed to me much more than any of the cubism and portraits. I’m unsure how to describe this work but it seemed to have a naivety which I’ve never saw from Picasso before. I also found this with some of his ceramic work. These images had a much more playful feel to them and I personally found them much more interesting than his other work. I think this could perhaps be because of my attraction to children’s book illustration.
